Om Alexander
My teaching is called PUST yoga, meaning Breath yoga. Here is the short story of my life in English:

I started with yoga when I was 14 years old in 1986, because I suffered of digestive problems and depression. I had gone to the doctor for some time and got some medicine, But really I did not become any better. I was fin pain and this maid my mind to bee open for change. So my love for yoga and breathing started here. I started my practice doing yoga from books, reading about yoga an how to do it. The practice was soft and gentle breathing and slow yoga. This helped me a loot, so i did it more and more , it became my LOVE . I also found a intro perspective look of life. This look turned up to help me understand many of my issues.
So did breath exercises and slow asana practice every day - I also read a lot of books about yoga philosophy. meditation, self-development. I did this for 10 years, from when was 17-27 years old. I also started to study Physiotherapy in Oslo, where i live.

I had, as I wrote earlier, problems with my digestive system and a lot of anxiety and depression. After practicing this slow asana practice and synchronizing it with the breath it started to balance my digestive system and lessen my anxiety.

I also found that this yoga helped me to become more alert and aware of many things. It opened my mind, in a way and i found many teachers on the path like Vasant swaha, D.Swenson. G.Deveraux, deepak chopra, Tony robbins and moore

So I really think thattmy love of practice started with wanting to find the truth about my digestive problems- So i realy belive that "Pain is a blessing in disguase" . I had grow up in an unhelaty environment regarding isus beetween my mother an my father. so this had to come to my understandig for me to heal. I had from home learned to push myself very hard with negativ self talk, the way my mother and father comunicated with each other. My negativ self talk and hush words was not good. so I really had to learn about ahimsa. So ahimsa mening no violence against your self with word or pressure. So breath yoga learned me to listen to the body and to communicate with my body in a more healthy way. Lasting change happens out of understanding.. Not out of pushing. to learn that not to use hush words and pressure to reach goals is very importen i this world , where many of us become more and more dehumanised - So because of this Ahimsa became very important for me to live by. After this i had moore than 20 years doing self practice on my breath and Yoga and using it to experience how different breathworks and pranayamas work. This is what i share in my work .

I never use any kind of pressure or violence in my yoga practice or in my life. I want the students to look inside themself and be patient in the practice. So, Breath yoga is yoga form where we do not push our self or the student. We always breath into the problem and make room for the problem the anxiety or fear to release. Or we talk about private issues and share about how we with understanding often can make room for change.

So Ashima is important in the teaching of Breath yoga. I do not want to hurt another human being or any other living creature.
My whole life have been a svadhyaya. I believe in karma, but i also believe that problems like my digestive problem can be a” blessing in disguise” And came to give me chance to find my way, so from i was 15 years old i started to practice and do self-study. I have the whole-time reed books from different kind of master’s in yoga but also in Sufism, Buddhism and christianity
I believe that a true yogi is a person who live has mastered his own life true self study, Yoga, meditation, being in nature and contemplation. So I have practice this my whole life.
Yama an Niyama is also importen Issues i as i teacher talks about in classes.
I have written books about Breath in Norwegian and have also written a YOGA book about PUST yoga and the practice.
I have a yoga studio in Oslo for over 25 years.
